Species Chlamydopteryx eurobium Kirkaldy, 1907

Compiler and date details

8 April 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

In his original description, Kirkaldy (1907) provides a note that the male has the “pygophore as in C. ridicularis”. This indicates that he examined at least one male. The specimen labelled as “holotype” and distributed by BPBM as the primary type has not been validated as such by publication (see Medler 1987) and has syntype status. If Kirkaldy's male specimen can be found in BPBM, then it is available to be designated as lectotype. The species is only known from the wet tropics of North Queensland.
