Introduction

Based on molecular and morphological evidence Finucci et al (2018) synonymised Phasmichthys lemur Whitley 1939 with Chimaera ogilbyi Waite 1898, and moved the species back to Chimaera. They also suggested that the validity of Hydrolagus was questionable and that the genus requires revision.
