Holotype BMNH B.M. 1924-199 ♀ (Weston collection), Australia, Cornwall [Tasmania].
Introduction
This very dark brown species is only known from the type locality, Cornwall, which was presumed by Kitching (1976) to be Cornwall in NE Tasmania.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Very dark brown insect; covered in short, pale tawny down. Head triangular; slightly narrower at base than metopidium; frons with 2 vertical sulci; genal margins curved, flexed forward; clypeus projecting about 1/3 of its length beyond genal margins; eyes very prominent, pale brown; ocelli equidistant from each other and from eyes, situated close to posterior margin of head. Prothorax roughly punctured; metopidium not as high as broad; sagittal carina present. extending about 1/3 way down metopidium; humeral angles prominent, forming angle of about 90º at tips; suprahumeral horns heavy, projecting forward very little, anterior surface coplanar with metopidium. not twisted, diverging forming angles of about 35º with body of insect, carinae very prominent on anterior surface, arising from a singk 'stalk' and branching to 4 or 5 ridges distally, tips of suprahumeral horns acutely angular, forming sharp crest at right angles to body, posterior surface demarcated on each side by additional carinae; posterior process tricarinate, triangular in cross-section, tapering, distal ¼ downcurved, reaching tips of closed tegmina. Tegmina semi-transparent with heavy brown veins; posterior part of apical limbus sclerotised. Sides of thorax and scutellum covered by dense, pale brown hairs. Length (holotype) 6.4 mm (Kitching 1976).
