Off the Clarence River, NSW (29º30´S) to off South East Cape, TAS (43º45´S) and from Fraser Seamount, QLD (24º25´S 155º17´E) to Taupo Seamount, NSW (33º15' S 156º14'E), also off Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island; temperate, south-west Pacific (New Zealand, Norfolk Ridge, Kermadec Ridge).
