Males of C. toadshow resemble C. foxae in having a long sternal concavity, but the patch of clavate setae is anteriorly oval in C. toadshow does not reach the anterior margin, and is without a median band; the fangs are long and crossed with laterally directed tips. Females can be easily distinguished from all other Cavisternum species by their rectangular dark epigastric field.
