Diagnosis
Males of C. ewani resemble those of C. toadshow with the sternal concavity occupying most of the sternal length, and the epigastric scutum not protruding. However, males of C. ewani can be easily separated from all other species by their broad field of clavate setae covering almost the whole width of the sternum. Females can be easily distinguished from all other Cavisternum species by their large elliptical membranous epigastric area.
