Family CILLIBIDAE Trägårdh, 1944
- Cillibidae Trägårdh, I. 1944. Zur Systematik der Uropodiden. Entomologisk Tidskrift 65: 173–186.
Introduction
The family Cillibidae includes two genera. The genus Cilliba includes eight species that are common and conspicuous in leaf litter and rotting wood in several different forest types throughout Europe, and to a lesser extent, in North Africa and Western Asia. Cilliba was revised in detail by Błoszyk et al. (2006) and Stachowiak et al. (2008). The endemic Australian genus Australocilliba includes two species that were described from rainforest litter in north Queensland (Athias-Binche & Błoszyk 1988). There are unconfirmed records of other Cillibidae from other parts of the world, and more information about these is needed before the biogeography of the family can be clarified.
