Diagnosis
Amoebozoans with somewhat flattened locomotive forms; typically broader anteriorly, with finely-tapering but short subpseudopodia (acanthopodia) emerging from the cell-wide lobopodium. All known species produce cysts. Soil, freshwater and halotolerant organisms. Monophyletic by ribosomal gene sequences.
