Type species:
Acanthuchus dromedarius Kirkaldy, 1906 by original designation.
Introduction
This genus is based on a single female specimen from Cairns in the wet tropics of north Queensland. The type species is a small squat species with short acute lateral pronotal processes and strongly sinuate median pronotal process (MPP) reaching barely to level with CuA. Day (1999) describes the MPP as saddle-shaped.

Diagnosis
Small, squat species. Clypeus broad. Frontal margin arched. Short, saddle-shaped median posterior process of pronotum. Crossveins m–cu1 and m–cu2 absent (Day 1999)
