Type data:
Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: iv.1969, J. Brooks), nr Cairns, Queensland.
Introduction
This species is known only from the holotype male from the wet tropics of North Queensland although Webb (1983) tentatively identified two female specimens from neighbouring localities as also being this species.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
This species can be differentiated from B. crosea by the presence of a single pair, rather than two pairs, of posterior processes on the aedeagus (Webb 1983)
