Introduction

This species, originally described from Tasmania, seems to be associated with higher altitude areas of southeastern Australia. No specific locality records within Tasmania exist.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Pale testaceous. Scutellum with three blackish dots in front and one hindward. Wings vitreous; veins pale. Length of the
body 2½ lines ; of the wings 6 lines (Walker 1858).

General coloration evenly brownish yellow with no other colour markings. Labrum narrow; anteclypeus parallel-sided. Crown wider against the eyes than in the centre, ocelli not visible in dorsal aspect (Evans 1966).
