Introduction

This is the most frequently collected species of the genus across much of New South Wales, Victoria and in the SW corner of Western Australia. It is also known from the North Island of New Zealand.

All stages: phloem feeder.

Extra Ecological Information

Known hosts: grass (Knight 1975: 185).

 

Diagnosis

This species can be reilably identified only by examination of the male genitalia. Knight (1975) provides a description and illustrations of the male genitalia for the New Zealand species of the genus, including A. pulchra and A. novella which also occur in Australia.
