Introduction

This is a relatively plain species of the genus but it still has some red colouring on the tegmen and orange on the pronotum. It is known from widely separated localities in every state across mainland Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: parenchyma feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head and thorax (spirit specimens) pallid. Tegmen with costal wax plate, in part dark pink, in part hyaline yellowish, subapically smoky brown. Length ♂ 3mm, ♀ 3.5mm (Evans 1966).
