Species Anectopia igerna Kirkaldy, 1907

Compiler and date details

2 November 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This is a tiny dark, short-winged species. In his original description of the species from Bundaberg in southern coastal Queensland, Kirkaldy (1907) stated that he only had a single female of this species thereby establishing a holotype by monotypy. Muir (1917) notes that his A. atrata Muir from Luzon in the Philppines may be the same as A. igerna Kirkaldy. Muir described a macropterous and a brachypterous form of A. atrata.
