There are three syntypes of Capotena elaina Swinhoe in the BMNH. One male and one female are the species described by Meyrick as Thyrsoscelis iridias Meyrick, while the third specimen, a female, may belong to another species. The application of the specific name C. elaina Swinhoe will eventually depend on the appropriate lectotype designation)
