Calyciform body. Column thick, yet soft, ectoderm ragged in appearance. Narrow mesogloeal marginal sphincter muscle, situated closer to endodermal side. In cross-section, marginal sphincter muscle consists of a series of cavities in a row, with fibres in each cavity. Margin tentaculate and wavy. Tentacles, about 96, purplish-brown colour, arranged in two or three cycles, short and slender with mesogloeal thickening on outer side. Oral disc concave, wine-purple with radiating ridges. Mouth on raised elevation, with two siphonoglyphs. Actinopharynx same colour as oral disc, and has longitudinally ridged. Mesenteries between 4-6 cycles. Mesenteries of first cycle only perfect, mesenteries of third and fourth cycle only fertile.
