Diagnosis
Nyantheae with basilar muscles and mesogleal marginal sphincter. Pedal disc flat, sometimes small, grasping. Column commonly smooth, often with distal row of cinclides and sometimes verrucae. Tentacles usually marginal on wide oral disc, their aboral sides sometimes thickened. Oral disc sometimes lobed. Mesenteries not divisible into macrocnemes and microcnemes. At least 6 pairs of perfect and fertile mesenteries. Retractor muscles diffuse and weak. Longitudinal muscles of the tentacles ectodermal. No acontia.
