Introduction

This distinctive genus is known from the southern Nearctic and northern Neotropical regions with one species from Mexico introduced to Australia in 1995 as a biological control agent of weedy species of Lantana L. (Verbenaceae). Within the Australian fauna it is quite distinctive.

Diagnosis

Tête triangulaire, arrondie au sommet; yeux saillants; ocelles légèrement rapprochés des yeux. Prothorax très aigu postérieurement, ne dépassant pas l'abdomen, se prolongeant antérieurement en une corne plus ou moins longue, comprimée latéralement, arrondie au sommet; épaules peu marquées. Elytres libres, à cellules quadrangulaires, allongées, deux discoïdales séparées par une basilaire. Jambes prismatiques (Fairmaire 1846).
