   Lepidion rissoi Swainson, 1838 (type often considered as by monotypy, but two included species mentioned, Gadus rissoii = Gadus lepidion Risso, 1810 and Gadus moro Risso, 1810) by subsequent designation, see Jordan, D.S. 1919. The genera of fishes. Part 2. Stanford University Publications, University Series 36: 153-284 [203] (an earlier designation may exist).
