Genus Gobiodon Bleeker, 1856

Introduction

Species of Gobiodon are difficult to identify. Recent studies (Munday 2004; Herler et al. 2009) have shown that live coloration and genetic work are critical to separate species. Many of the earlier descriptions did not include live coloration and in some cases the names currently in use are provisional.
