Holotype CSIRO B.3425, Bostrem Bay (Sek Harbour), N coast of New Guinea.
Paratype(s) CSIRO B.3420.
Introduction
Records of this species from Australia are uncertain and further work is required on fresh specimens to determine the presence and distribution of B. rarisquamosus (see Torii et al. 2003).
