Introduction

This species is pale yellow in life with distinctive but variable patches of reddish orange, black, brown and white. It is widely distributed in eastern Australia from Torres Strait islands and the Gulf Country of North Queensland to southern Victoria and also occurs in Perth, Western Australia. It has been found in western Sydney sharing the silken shelters made by the Silk Leafhopper, Kahaono montana Evans, but it is unknown if this is a social parasitism or a rare form of interspecific cooperation. It is more likely the former since K. wallacei has been found in the Orange region of New South Wales feeding without any silken structures.
