Introduction

This species is based on a single male specimen collected from Acacia (Fabaceae) from Tambrey Homestead, Western Australia. Its legs are missing so the placement of the species in Ozoliarus was tentatively based on the structures of the head.

Adult: phloem feeder.

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

Colour. Body black, carinae paler; legs dark brown; forewing hyaline colourless with indistinct brown marks along crossveins, veins mid brown, tubercles concolorous with veins, pterostigma dark brown; abdominal sternites dark brown. Morphology. Body length: ♂ 5.7 mm. Head: Vertex (total length) 2.1 times longer than wide; basal emargination rectangular. Postclypeus with well-developed median carina. Thorax: Hind margin of pronotum obtusely angled. Mesonotum with well-developed carinae. Forewing 3.7 times longer than wide; costa without tubercles; 8 apical cells. Male genitalia: Aedeagus: Phallotheca with a very short, slightly curved spine dorsal at apex; two long, strongly curved spines ventral; a spine shaped like head and neck of a pelican; a shorter, strongly curved spine right lateral; and a rounded sclerotised process dorsal. Flagellum sclerotised with 3 spines. (Löcker et.al. 2006)
