   Holotype CAS ♂ (coll: 13.x.1962, E.S. Ross & D.Q. Cavagnaro, 10m), Langi Crossing, [Willare, Dampierland], Western Australia.

 

Introduction

This species is only known from the male holotype from "Langi Crossing" in Western Australia which is in the Dampierland bioregion of NW Western Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: parenchyma feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Body pale with brownish rosy marks at sides of vertex and on pronotum. Forewing light with brownish patches at apex of clavus, at apex of terminal RP, apical MP' and a brownish streak along commissural margin. Male genitalia apparatus similar to that of D. olszewskii Dworakowska differing from it by almost straight "beak" of the bird-head-like pygofer process, very narrow apical part of paramere and by aedeagus structure. The aedeagus stem in profile is thicker than in D. sagittata Dworakowska and sinuate apically when viewed from side; in posterior view the stem is parallel-sided and tapering in apical sixth. Length ♂ 2.5 mm (Dworakowska 1993).
