Introduction

This small pale brown leafhopper was described from the Kermadec Islands of New Zealand as well as from Norfolk Island. It is the only Maiestas known from Norfolk Island.

Diagnosis

This species is similar to Maiestas knighti Webb & Viraktamath but has the vertex less produced medially and with the anterior margin less angulate, the dark brown on the anterior margin less developed, the subgenital plates more elongate with the lateral margin shallowly concave, and the aedeagus with the apical prolongation more pronounced (Knight 1976). It is also the only species of the genus recorded from Norfolk Island.
