Introduction

Eighteen species are known in this genus, distributed from India to New Guinea and from the Philippines to Australia. Two species are known from Australia, both only in the wet tropics of North Queensland. As with Sarima, revision of the oriental issid fauna may redefine the generic placement of these two species.

Diagnosis

Capite thoraceque aeque latis, illo ante oculos haud prominulo, vertice transverso, oculis latitudine subsequali; fronte aeque longa ac lata, prope apicem ampliata; lateribus clypei carina instructis; corpore paullo compresso (Stål 1866).

Gnezdilov & Fletcher (2010) provided a key to the Australian genera (subsequently modified and published on the web, see below) and differentiated Tetrica from most of the other Australian genera by the absence of the distinctive features defining the other genera. From Chlamydopteryx, the genus can be differentiated by the relatively narrower face and by the number of crossveins in the hindwing.
