Introduction

Webb (1983) designated a male neotype to replace the female holotype which Evans (1941) stated was in SAMA but appears to have been lost. The species is only known from Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head ventral surface lemon yellow, eyes greenish yellow, crown slightly wider in the centre than against the eyes. Pronotum, scutellum and tegmen pale buff. Thorax and abdomen ventral surface pale biscuit colour. Length 3 mm (Evans 1941).

This species can be distinguished by its small size and the long dorsoposterior processes on the aedeagus. In the single male studied, the apophyses of the styles are unaccountably reduced (Webb 1983).
