Species Euronotobrachys continuata (Distant, 1906)

Compiler and date details

11 November 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

The identity of all five species of Euronotobrachys needs to be confirmed by examination of the type material. Distant (1906) differentiated an unnamed variant in colour which lacked a basal transverse fascia on the tegmen. This indicates that he had at least a specimen of each variant although if there is only one example of the typical form, this could be considered a holotype by monotypy. The material was collected by F.P. Dodd so it was probably collected in the wet tropics of North Queensland but the wider distribution in Queensland cannot be determined until the identity of the species has been established.
