Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Like the last [X. pallidiceps Kirkaldy (Fiji)], but larger and yellower; tegmina with sparse brownish markings. Length 3½ mill. (Kirkaldy 1907).

Crown of head declivous, pale yellow, with irregular and variable brown markings. Pronotum brown with numerous white spots, some of which are not distinct and separate but merge into adjacent ones. Scutellum brown with four white spots. Tegmen, three shades of brown in an irregular pattern with a few white spots. Length ♀ 3–3½ mm (Evans 1966). Evans (1966) provided an illustration of the male genitalia of this species.
