Introduction
The Australian Xylophagidae consists of four species in the genus Exeretonevra and a single species of uncertain placement, Anabarhynchus rufiventris.
Exeretonevra was transferred to the Xylophagidae by Palmer and Yeates (2000) based on larval morphology. Exeretonevra can be encountered in cool, wet forests where the larvae inhabit the soil.
