Type data:
Holotype ANIC ♂ (coll.: 25.iv.1967, D.H. Colless), Bamboo Ck, near Miallo, N of Mossman, Queensland.
Introduction
This species is closely related to W. fasciata Webb with only colour differences and minor genitalia differences separating the two species, both of which are only known from the wet tropics of North Queensland.

Diagnosis
This species can be distinguished by the brown markings on the forewings and the absence of markings on the pronotum (Webb 1983).
