Introduction
The Vartini includes seven genera distributed across the Palaearctic, Afrotropical and Oriental regions. A single species has extended this distribution to the Australian region, occurring in the wet tropics and Torres Strait as well as New Guinea and the Philippines.
Diagnosis
The only Australian species can be immediately recognised by its bright colouration with two longitudinal red stripes from the front of the head to the hind margin of the scutellum plus additional lateral stripes from the pronotum along the tegmina.
