Diagnosis

Carapace oval in lateral view with well-defined incisure and narrow to elongate caudal process; surface smooth and without lateral ornamentation. First antenna: b- and c-bristles on 7th segment of male with suctorial discs; f- and g-bristles on 8th segment of male with marginal filaments similar to those in female. Second antenna: exopod with large basal spines and large lateral spine on 9th segment; bristles of 2nd segment with 6–12 spines along ventral margin and few short dorsal hairs. Endopod 3-segmented: 1st segment with 3–5 bristles; 2nd segment with 1 distal bristle; 3rd segment with terminal filament. Mandibula: medial bristle of distal pair on ventral margin of 2nd endopodal segment larger than lateral bristle and with rounded or tapering tip. Maxilla: longest alpha-bristle with abundant marginal hairs. Fifth limb: small process with spines or hairs present on margin between 4th and 5th segments of exopod. Furca: on female and male some (2nd and 4th usually) claws united to lamella.
