Diagnosis
Body conical, in the contracted state irregularly wrinkled, in the upper part with irregular ridges. The mesoglea of the column very thick (0.4-0.5 cm) in the upper part of the body, somewhat thinner below the sphincter, diminishing in thickness towards the pedal disc. Sphincter folds running out from a thick lamella of the mesogloea. The longitudinal muscles of the tentacles and radial muscles of the oral disc are endodermal, the latter sometimes a little branched. Actinopharynx long, longitudinally sulcated, with 2 broad siphonoglyphs aborally prolonged. Pairs of mesenteries 6+6+12+24 48 in the distal part; at the pedal disc an additional fifth cycle, the mesenteries of which are weak and lack filaments. Mesenteries of the three first cycles perfect, 2 mesenteries of the first two cycles fertile. The parietobasilar muscles are often not enclosed in the mesogloea. Basilar muscles well developed.
