Introduction
Family Ulidiidae (formally Otididae) is a small family of flies. Approximately 400 species are known worldwide. In Australia, there are currently only four described species from three genera. They are often associated with living or decaying vegetation and excrement. Key references are Lower (1970) — catalogue of Australasian/Oceanic species, and Daniels (1976) — a key to Australian species.
