Diagnosis
This genus can be distinguished from the other Australian genera by square cross-section of the hind tibia and a short and broad face. In these features it resembles the Palaearctic Rhytidodus Fieber which was recorded in Australia from a single male specimen collected near a quarantine facility in Sydney's west and which is excluded from the Australian fauna here. It can be distinguished from Rhytidodus in having the face shagreen and the hind femural setal formula 2+1 (Webb 1983).
