Introduction

This relatively plain brown species is known from Moorooka in SE Queensland and Nyngan in the Darling riverine plains of New South Wales. The Nyngan specimens are labelled as having been collected from Eucalyptus populifolia Desf. which is a synonym of the Forest Red Gum, Eucalyptus tereticornis Sm. (Myrtaceae).

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Face of head yellowish brown mottled with light and very dark brown. Crown steeply declivous laterally, longest in the centre where it is apically rounded, yellowish brown mottled with dark brown. Pronotum and scutellum concolorous with the crown. Tegmen hyaline grey, densely and evenly mottled with brown; veins brown with grey or white bars. Length ♂ 9 mm (Evans 1966).
