Comment: F.P. Dodd did most of his collecting in the wet tropics of North Queensland and this is probably the type locality for this name. - Thymbris inachis Kirkaldy, G.W. 1907. Comment: This is one of the rare occasions when Kirkaldy indicated in the original publication that one of his specimens of a new species would be the "type".

This pale brown species is widespread across Australia and is probably present in many other localities not recognised here.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Dilute griseo-ferrugineus, supra rugulosus et pallido conspersus; capite angulum rectum apice rotundatum formante, medio quam ad oculos paullo longiore, quintae parti thoracis longitudine fere aequali, margine apicali convexo; ocellis ad marginem anticum capitis positis. ♀ Long. 12, Lat. 3 mill. (Stål 1865).
Face of head straw coloured, sometimes sparsely mottled with brown; frontoclypeus laterally depressed posterior to the antennal ledges. Crown slightly declivous, arrow-shaped, slightly longer in the centre than against the eyes, pale brown, finely or evenly mottled with brown or reddish brown. Pronotum anteriorly declivous, together with scutellum concolorous with the crown. Tegmen pale or dark hyaline brown sparsely or densely mottled with brown; veins brown with pale bars. Sevel costal veinlets additional to R1a and R1b may be present. Length ♂ 8, ♀ 11–14 mm (Evans 1966).
