Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Blackish or blackish brown; head testaceous or stramineous, except the apex, keels in front of the eyes and frontal area betwen submedian keels; base of vertex and disk of pronotum pale brownish testaceous, a longitudinal ivory white stripe on mesonotum extending to posterior angle. Underside pale, sordid, testaceous, marked with black. Tegmina and wings hyaline, colorless, veins pale brownish, apically many of them whitish; 2 black smudges, one from apex of suture to apex of tegmen broadly, the other on the stigma, etc. Head slightly ascending, about as long as the nota and abdomen together. Length 6.5 mm to apex of abdomen; 7.5-9.5 mm to apex of tegmina. (Kirkaldy 1906, as T. (N.) anadyomene)

Closely allied to the preceding species [Thanatodictya (Lucinda) bifasciata], but the cephalic process more nodulose at the base, which, together with the lateral areas, are castaneous. Tegmina without the longitudinal fasciae, but with the apical and one third of the inner margin and the stigma fuscous. Long. excl. tegm. 7 mm. Long. head, 3 mm. Long. tegm., 6 mm. (Distant 1893)
