Genus Tetraleberis Kornicker, 1981

Introduction

In his 1981 review of the Cyclasteropinae, Kornicker (1981) placed the six genera (four of which were new) into three new tribes. Tetraleberis and Amboleberis were grouped into the tribe Tetraleberidini, sharing a seta between claws 3 and 4 on the furca. Tetraleberis is distinguished from Amboleberis by lacking a vertical ridge on the anterior of the carapace. Two species were split from Cycloleberis and two new described. The type species is Asterope brevis Müller 1890; there are 6 species in the genus.
