Adult: mellivore, volant.

Extra Ecological Information

Social insects, living in large colonies, with female reproductive and worker castes, nests of wax and resin (fresh oil-based paint and putty from buildings may be used) with irregularly arranged brood combs, in tree cavities, underground or in house cavities, flower visiting record: Cymbidium Sw. [Orchidaceae], Dendrobium Sw. [Orchidaceae].
