Type species:
Taslopa montana Evans, 1942 by original designation.
Introduction
As with Microlopa Evans, this monotypic endemic genus is restricted to the high country of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The only species is known in fully winged and brachypterous forms.

Diagnosis
The head is produced and acute apically and resembles that of Ulopa Fall., rather than the head of Austrolopa Ev., in that the anteclypeus is pear-shaped and the frontoclypeus does not overhang the anteclypeus. The head and the ventral surface of the thorax are ornamented with white shining dots that resemble grains of sugar (Evans 1942).
