Introduction
This distinctive genus contains two species distributed primarily in the arid zones from Central Australia to Western Australia. One species, the type, shows sexual dimorphism in the shape of the head.

Diagnosis
Pale greyish or brown insects, ranging in length from 8.4–14 mm. Face longer than wide; labium terminating between hind coxae; anteclypeus long and tapering; postclypeus convex. Crown slightly longer against eyes than in centre or narrowly produced. Pronotum depressed anteriorly and laterally. Scutellum elevated posteriorly. Tegmen with venation reticulate in claval area. Male genitalia: pygophore apically acute; aedeagus curved, apically barbed; parameres unusually short; Xth segment lacking processes. Female VIIth abdominal sternite deeply divided into two long, narrow, parallel-sided parts (Evans 1981).
