Genus Tarsonemus Canestrini & Fanzago, 1876
Introduction
In addition to the named species listed here, unidentified species of Tarsonemus have been reported from Australia many times, for example by Womersley (1955), Richards (1971), Lowry (1980), Colloff et al. (1991), O'Dowd (1994), Noble et al. (1996), Longstaff et al. (1999), Walter (1995, 1999), Walter & O'Dowd (1992, 1999), Vega et al. (2007) and Beyer et al. (2011). Some of these records probably refer to specimens that will be placed in other genera when they are re-examined.
