Subfamily Tachiniscinae Kertesz, 1903
Introduction
First record of subfamily in Australia published by Korneyev (2012), who comments that the new species is probably a parasite ("some species are parasites of caterpillars of saturniid moths, and this is believed to be true for all the Tachiniscinae, as they share similar structure of female ovipositor".
Diagnosis
Medium-sized reddish-yellow flies with hyaline wings and brownish-black abdomen (sometimes with brown vertex and dorsal portion of occiput and brownish-yellow abdomen).
