Introduction

Most species of Tisbidae are phytal or epibenthic (Giere 1993) although there are some species that live commensally with cephalopods (Avdeev 1983) and as ectoparasites on the gills of teleost fish (Huys et al. 1996). Tisbidae occur from the littoral to the deep-sea (Giere 1993).

Two species of Scutellidium are recorded for the Australian fauna.
