Holotype ZMA ♀, off northeast point of Timor, Indonesia. - Synalpheus metaneomerus streptodactylus Coutière, H. 1921. Les espèces d'Alpheidae rapportées de l'Océan Indien par M.J. Transactions of the Linnean Society of London 17(4): 413-428 pls 60-64 [414] [nomenclaturally invalid name; Coutière created S. metaneomeris as a replacement species name for what he had previously described as S. neomeris streptodactylus Coutière, 1905, but then reused the name streptodactylus to denote a new subspecies of metaneomeris differing from the original concept; given he wished to recognise two subspecies, the species name streptodactylus should have been retained, and the present taxon given a new subspecies name; this is the reason for the action of Banner & Banner (1966) in proposing the new name S. streptodactylus hadrungus].
