Ecological Descriptors

Marine.

 

Diagnosis

Oral disc to 500mm diameter, undulating; green, brown, or blue, densely covered with short tentacles (a few mm long, about 1mm diameter) although area around mouth typically tentacle-free. Tentacles sticky to touch; basal portion of tentacle of uniform diameter, upper portion bluntly pointed to slightly bulbed; single exocoelic tentacles mostly white, about 3mm diameter; endocoelic tentacles closely set in radial rows usually two tentacles across at oral end widening to five across at marginal end. Column white, yellow, or light green, widening gradually from pedal disc to a flared upper column bearing small non-adhesive verrucae. A shallow fosse may be present.
