Introduction
Machado & Teixeira (2021) list 16 valid species of Stephanopis (sensu stricto) which they treated as restricted to Australia. They noted that further work was required to determine the correct generic placement of the remaining species currently placed in Stephanopis, so the placement of some species in this genus may change once this work is completed.
