Genus Stenipo Evans, 1934

Compiler and date details

6 September 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

Am endemic genus of three species, distributed in Western Australia and South Australia. The species are not well represented in collections. Evans (1966) considered that the three species included in this genus may show sufficient differences in male genitalia to warrant separation into three separate genera but retained them as a single unit because of their similarity in other respects. The same could apply to the species placed into the genera Ipoides, Ipolo and Relipo which are all really only distinguishable on features of the male genitalia. A more intensive examination of the status of these genera is warranted.
